Janet Engdahl
Biography

Jan Engdahl is a resident of Herndon, VA near Washington, DC. She is a Member of the Vienna Art Society in Vienna, VA. Jan has won many prizes And medals in New Jersey and the DC area for her watercolors. Jan enjoys painting outside with her two colleagues in the beautiful gardens, historic sites in DC, and Virginia landscapes nearby. In the summer she studies with Betty Lou Schlemm, AWS in a workshop in Rockport, MA with other professional artists and teachers. Many of Jan’s paintings reflect the ocean and harbor scenes of Rockport, MA. In the winter she loves to paint snow scenes and still life’s or florals in her home studio. She paints primarily in transparent watercolor in a realistic style, striving for beautiful light and compositional excellence.
