Alicia Judkins
Biography

Alicia Judkins was born and reared in Mexico City. After coming to the United States, she became a naturalized citizen and now resides in Houston, Texas. Since she was a young girl Alicia has always had an interest in art. Many Mexican and American art teachers have helped to influence her work. Pastels, charcoal, color pencils, oil, water-colors, acrylics, sculpture, and metal work in Spanish pewter-alloy icons are the mediums she prefers. Alicia also enjoys painting with a palette knife; this technique allows her to create works of art that are unique.

Her portfolio includes over 400 different paintings. The artist has had exhibitions in Mexico City & Houston where she was awarded “Artist of the Month” at Houston Civic Arts Association. Currently, Alicia volunteers at the MFAH (Museum of Fine Arts Houston) where she has been a bilingual docent for 13 years expanding her appreciation and knowledge in art history. In 2000 she was chosen “Docent of the Year.” By visiting various art museums throughout Europe and Asia, Alicia has increased her focus and intensity in the arts.
